Four Crabwood riders were amongst the seven who signed on for the Bournemouth & District Women’s Cycling Association event on the P128/25 course. The evening was warm and still, with some damp roads and a few light showers around. As the riders started, so did the rain, which continued throughout the event, becoming heavier and heavier on each lap.
Pat Lafford regained his title, his 1.00.05 giving him a 2½ -minute winning margin over 2018 champion Colin Yeates. Pat al...so managed to pick up the best veteran on standard +8:58 and was also first on handicap. The handicapper will not be so generous for next week’s 10-mile championship!
