Time Trials

The much anticipated time trial season has finally started. Here are the results so far. And judging by the results so far, it looks like Pat has some competition for the Presidents cup.  Thumbs up to Elliott for a couple of fast times.

14th April P164. As usual it was cold and increasingly wet, which is why I didn’t finish.

Elliott Holman 25.41, Pat Lafford 26.46, Mike Bisson (2nd claim) 28.33, Dave England 29.04 John Tunney 30.13

and Brian Coupe 36.08 who rode round the course with his back brake rubbing.

28th April P164. Cold and very windy, which might explain the low turnout of CCC riders.

Dave England 28.30, Brian Coupe 29.16

5th May P164/10.  For a change it was sunny, reasonably warm with a light southerly breeze.

Elliott Holman 25.34, John Winchester 26.06, Pat Lafford 26.20, Simon Wheeler 27.28,  Stephen Skinner (2nd claim) 27.34, Brian Coupe 29.01, Claire Newman 30.16, John Sanchez-Bisson 31.01.

Presidents cup results so far.

(Note – as we have 9 solo Time Trials on the calendar this year (including the Hill-Climb) , the President’s Cup will be based on the best results from 7 events.)

Brian Coupe 21, Elliott Holman 20, Dave England 18, Pat Lafford 17, John Winchester 9, John Tunney 7, Simon Wheeler 7, Claire Newman 5, John Sanchez-Bisson 4.

So Brian has taken an early lead, even with his brakes rubbing. Elliott is breathing down his neck being behind by just one point.

Are there any members who would be available for marshalling occasionally?  We would like to be able to call on at least one marshal, as Claire and JSB who marshal when they don’t ride the event, we are short if they both want to ride.

We are planning to go for a post event meal after the Championship 10 Weds 27th July at The Forest Inn, Ashurst.  Please let Claire know if you would like to join us.

Darts.

Image result for darts players

Is there any body who would like to play darts? The league takes place over the winter. The games are friendly with plenty of laughs. The cycle darts league has been running for 80 years, and is in danger of folding due to lack of teams, It would be a shame to see it disappear after all these years.

As you can see, playing darts does wonders for your winter fitness.

Crabwood Holiday.

We are all off to the Pyrenees this July to watch Le Tour, and attempt at some of the climbs there. Well I hope we are going to the Pyrenees, with Pat organising this years trip we could end up anywhere but the Pyrenees.

A well done to Mike Bisson who ran this year’s London marathon in a PB of2.46.54.
