Text Box: COURSE DESCRIPTION

STARTon B3056 (Boltons Bench), 400yds SE of junction with A35, at SV marker No.4/9.   Proceed towards Beaulieu passing over railway at Beaulieu Road Station.  Continue to Leygreen Farm and turn left.  After 2.5 miles turn left at Ipley Cross Roads.  Pass entrance to Ferny Crofts and FINISH at bottom of hill approx 0.3 mile east of junction with B3056, at culvert carrying stream under road.

 

 

 

 

USUAL HQ.  Parc Pale Car Park on B3056 

 

ROUTE TO START – turn right out of HQ – CARE – to Boltons bench – NO U-TURNS – turn with care in Car Park either side of road.

ROUTE FROM FINISH – continue to Beaulieu Road junction where turn right – GREAT CARE of traffic and riders still competing, continue to turn Right to HQ.

 

 

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

 

Riders must:

 

  • Beware of forest animals on the road all round the course – and vehicles stopping because of them.

  • Not do U-turns at the start or finish, within sight of the timekeeper.

  • Beware of traffic emerging from Car Parks and campsites around the course.

  • Take extra care on Beaulieu Road Station bridge which is narrow with reduced visibility.

  • Take care on left turn at Leygreen which has reduced visibility and  possibility of gravel

    • – Do Not Cross the Central White Line on approach to or following Leygreen junction – riders crossing the white line will be disqualified.

  • Take care on left turn at Ipley which may have gravel. 

  • After finishing, take care on right turn at Beaulieu Road Junction, of two way traffic including riders still competing.

Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard.
In accordance with Regulation 15, ALL JUNIOR competitors must wear Protective Hard Shell Helmets.
It is recommended that a WORKING REAR LIGHT, either flashing or constant, is fitted
 to the machine in a position visible to following road users and is active while the machine is in use.
Any rider observed riding in a manner which may jeopardise his or her own safety, the safety of others and the future of the Sport will be disqualified and reported to the South District Council of Cycling Time Trials.
